Laverne Cox is the most visible trans person of color in the world and she has helped millions of people to learn about trans people and the discrimination they face. I think Laverne Cox is one of the most important and influential people in the world and should’ve been included in the TIME 100.

"Trans person" fuck off john green

Is she not a trans person? Cause last I checked she was?

she is a trans woman. the fact that she is a trans woman is so important and the fact that he conveniently said “trans person” was just a clever way of saying “i dont see you as x, i see you as a person

plus when someone specifically asks to be referred to with female-gendered terms and you use a gender-neutral term it’s a specific form of misgendering known as degendering

Not all people are women, but all women are people. By saying you’re not allowed to refer to a woman as a person you are thereby dubbing them as a different species other than homosapien and oppressing them. Please stop that.

There’s a difference between calling any person a person and calling a trans woman a person because in the second scenario they are usually referring to her as a person to sly misgender or defender her!

By implying that trans people and cis people are held to different standards you are implying they are not equal and oppressing people. Please stop that.

Trans people and cis people aren’t equal. We are not treated equally and people do things to us to make sure we know that we are not equal. One of those things is referring to us as “person” when the concept of using gendered terms would be important in the situation. do not tell me I am oppressing people, you are a self describe anti sjw blog who also doesn’t understand what oppression is or the basic concept of it.
